New Heights
Berowra Heights NSW
Perched on the edge of the cliff face at Berowra Heights, this plunge pool has a view like no other. Overlooking the valley of berowra creek, you feel like you are floating in the tree tops while enjoying a swim. The tile selection is perfect to complement the backdrop and the added sparkle of the pearlescent tiles gives it a beautiful sheen in the sunlight.
This was a particularly difficult build with the limited access. The excavation and piering as all completed with hand excavators jack hammering into the rock of the cliff. Excavated material was left on site, via a large 'chute' sending the material down to the lower level. Creating the formwork 6m above the ground below was a challenge, and similarly after the concreting, removing the formwork was also a monstrous effort. Extending the pool shell to include the sun lounge space and stairs to the upper and lower levels added complexity, but also meant the progress was much faster and managed by the one contractor. Pool equipment was set up to be out of the way and out of ear shot from the entertaining space. Utilising glass bead media filtration, multi speed pump for energy saving and self dosing / self regulating salt chlorinator makes this pool stay sparkling clear and ready to swim.
